YEAR IN REVIEW

Heya, Let's get a date nailed down for our year end music club. It's the holiday season so I'm sure this is going to be a breeze!!! I'll throw out Friday, Dec. 27th. Yes? No? Marcy

  1. We are theoretically landing at 4:40pm on 12/27, so it's possible, but we'll be coming from the Channel Islands, UK... I know I'll be a jet lagged mo-fo). Literally any other day before we leave 1/6 is better, if possible?

  2. As someone slept during a sword fight due to jet lag, I totally understand. How about the next Friday, January 3?

  3. As someone who slept thru a sword flight due to jet lag, I totally understand! How about the next Friday, January 3?

  4. Which one is the euphemism "jet lag", "slept through", or "sword fight"?

    I'm good either day, Jim.

  5. Actually, I am good any day other than Jan 2.

I was bored with Jay-Z’s album this year, so probably no songs will make my top of year. Will give another listen before the meeting though just to be sure.

  6. Musically, I have enjoyed 2013. And I will enjoy the year in review on Jan 3rd. BTW, we've been at this 5 years. Do we need to commemorate?

    1. So I guess Kären is planning a Rockbox karaoke night on the 3rd, too? I want to do both. Should we try to re-schedule the next night or something if we can? Or see if she can? But, what do you all think?

    2. I think there was talk of a Sunday for music club? I am still available both Sundays I'm in town.

    3. Agreed, best of both worlds please. Possibilities... the 28th, 30th, 2nd, 4th or 5th? ( Sorry, Pat and I can't do the 29th.) Gina? Which of those dates work for you and Drayson? Everyone else? Here's another idea (depending on peoples work schedule) to mull over, do we make a music day of it and have Music Club before Rock Box.

    4. I can't do the 28th or the 2nd at night. I also work 30, 31, 2, 3, and 4 day. (damn it, that seems like a lot of work)

    5. Gina, Drayson, Jim, Pat & Debbie all appear to be available on Sunday Jan 5? What say the rest of you? Sunday January 5th for our year end music club?

    6. Nice. If it is Sunday, and I don't work Monday, then this sounds like Jim's ideal Music Club. You guys better be ready to stay up super late drinking sparkly bourbon cocktails and discussing the virtues of your song choices. I am looking forward to multiple musical filibusters from all y'all.

    7. I'm on board. A great way to end the holiday season and Jim can get sloppy drunk on bourbon. Jim, how did you know I'm serving bourbon?

    8. What else could you possibly be serving?

  7. I think the 5 year anniversary is wood. Oooh, wooden jackets!

  9. Since we all have the day off on Sunday, let's kick it off with a cocktail hour around 5ish!

  10. She used to stray like a bull in my maze just to make me feel good
After all the bad advice That had nothing at all to do with life
What you can't cure You can medicate
Just always remember who's the real chignon
    I’m breathing but i’m wheezing Feel like i’m emphysem-in’
Slipped into the fountains of my emptiness
You swimming upstream or just tuning into new sensations
If you're really really really really not ready to pass
Well, the twenty-first century's gonna kick your ass, boy
And I will swallow my pride- You're the one that I love- And I'm saying goodbye
So show me why youre strong - Ignore everybody else

In the heat I saw you rising from the dirt -
Drunken tears and tugging at your skirt
She wondered if there's a way out of the blue- Who's gonna take her home this time?
Oh simple thing where have you gone - I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?
And if I'm dipshit drunk on the pink perfume - I am the man in the fucking moon
It's in the stars, It's been written in the scars on our hearts
And baby even on our worst nights - I’m into you
I was debating Swedish Fish, Roasted peanuts or licorice.
I’ve been walking in suburbia - Just looking for you
I'm a fool for that shake in your thighs
We could have a dog and all the rest- We could live it up
The way your hair curls in the rain - The little lines that write your face
You gon' need more than Wikipedia to get to me

So all those lyrics, I found in the internet. These I had to listen to hear:
Cracker like a bine- he makes mistake- shuffle me like cards you seem to play so well
