From time to time a member of Music Club (called a 'castaway' during the programme) will be asked to choose eight recordings. These recordings are usually, but not always, music that they would take if they were to be cast away on a desert island. During the course of conversations each recording is shared while the castaway discusses their lives and the reasons/context behind each selection. Hosted by J. Politi, this series of interviews will be posted and archived on the Stingless Music Club Blog for the whole of the worldwide web to enjoy.

It's not just about the eight recordings. In addition, the castaway will be given the Complete Works of Shakespeare and The Bible. They will also be prompted to select a third book to accompany them.
Before being cast away with the book and audio choices they have made, one luxury item must also be chosen to accompany the castaways. There are caveats though! The luxury item must be inanimate and of no use in escaping the island or allowing communication from outside.
Of course, the twist at the end is having to make a choice amongst your eight audios but DO NOT GIVE THIS MUCH THOUGHT before your interview. On the honor system, let this be a gut reaction, we don't want this part to be too rehearsed now do we... RIGHT?!
