Hello MC'ers - You might notice a couple changes to our blog. I hope you'll find the new links and nav bar useful. ;-) Some of this is to help in preparation for our Desert Island Disc series that will be published at some point in 2019. About that series... I'm pouring over the BBC archives, making my own playlist of top selections by each castaway I listen to and of course honing my interview skills in the process so I can do us all proud when we each sit down.
I've actually been practice interviewing Owen, Kevin, and Gary. Owen chose a book by Barbara Woodhouse (I guess he's not that well read...) and his luxury item was an endless supply of elk antlers (no shocker there...). When the waves came and threatened his music choices, I have to say I was quite moved when he chose to save 'Whenever I Call You "Friend" ' by Kenny Loggins, featuring Stevie Knicks since it was our theme song and he'd want to, in a sense, have me with him.
As discussed in our last gathering, when you bring your year end selections to our next get together, as a 4th item be sure to bring the top selection from your favorite BBC DID. That'll be a bit of a forcing factor for you to get in a DID mindset. We'll need to figure out how we make this thing happen at some point too!
