  1. Wow! These guys understand yacht rock. I wish I was listening to this at the Trulo cottage window seat with you!

  2. I did not realize Climax Blues Band - Couldn't Get It Right was yacht rock. I think I might be upset.

  3. I think it's grandfathered in because of the other Climax Blues Band hit "I Love You".

  4. Oh God, I forgot about that song. Now the Yacht Rock tag makes sense.
    Also, my day is ruined.

    When I was

    a younger man

    I hadn’t a care

    fooling around

    hitting the town

    growing my hair

    ugh

    1. I'm hoping your Ugh was short for "Oh, why don't they make songs like this anymore."

    2. Yeah, that’s what Ugh means.

  5. SO GOOD, that song, Jim. SO good..

So, I was happily scatting along to "Morning Dance" by Spyro Gyra, and Googled it to see what year it came out. Wikipedia told me this:

It was also featured on The Weather Channel's Local Forecast segments.

Yeah, that's about right. (Also, I already knew that, anyway: The Weather Channel's Local Forecast segments is one of my favorite shows.)

    1. There’s a Weather Channel now? I thought the weather was for talking to family on the phone and not wanting to talk about the elections. Why do we need a channel for avoiding Trump conversations?

    2. I gotta say, I am extremely happy with the niche I’ve carved out here of being hopelessly behind the times. It just feels right. Very pleased.

  6. Best yacht rock song. Does "What a Fool Believes" take the title?

  7. It almost has to be, doesn't it? I think the only other contender would be something by Boz Skaggs, but I'd be hard pressed to pick.

Although, James Ingram's Yah Mo B There needs to be recognized (AND features Michael McDonald).

    1. I have an artist’s talk that starts in a couple minutes, so I really should be commenting, particularly on this topic, and yet... Yes. "What A Fool Believes" is hands down the Best Yacht Rock song.
